Ingredients Needed For Eggnog Cookies

  • 2 1/4 cups of flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/4 cups of sugar
  • 3/4 cup of salted butter (softened)
  • 1/2 cup of eggnog
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla
  • 2 egg yolks (large)

How To Make Christmas Eggnog Cookies

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a small bowl.
  • Cream the sugar and butter together in a large bowl using an electric mixer.
  • Add the eggnog, vanilla, and egg yolks beating at medium speed until smooth.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients. Beat at low speed just until blended.
  • Using a small ice cream scoop, measure the dough out and drop them by teaspoons onto the prepared cookie sheets.
  • Leave 1 inch between each cookie.
  • Sprinkle lightly with additional nutmeg.
  • Bake at 300 degrees for 23-25 minutes. (Or until bottoms turn light brown.)
  • Allow the cookies to cool slightly before transferring them to a wire rack.
  • Leave the cookies on a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

You can also bake cookies at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until bottom is golden brown.
