How do you always pass down Hidden Abilities? ›

There's a 50% chance of passing on a Pokémon's Hidden Ability to its offspring. However, if you breed a Pokémon that has a Hidden Ability with a Ditto, you'll always pass the Hidden Ability down.

Once players have caught a Pokemon with a hidden ability, they won't have trouble getting more. Players can breed hidden ability Pokemon to pass the hidden ability on to their children.

Breeding is also a good method of getting Pokémon with a Hidden Ability. However, your female parent Pokémon needs to already have the Hidden Ability, so she can pass on the gene. You can also use a Ditto without a Hidden Ability and breed it with a Pokémon with a Hidden Ability, regardless of sex.

Once you have the Pokémon with the Hidden Ability you desire, you can breed it to its offspring. In the past, only the female Pokémon could pass it down, but now the male can as well. The female Pokémon with the Hidden Ability has a 60 percent chance of passing it down.

If the mother Pokemon has a Hidden Ability, it will have an 60% chance of passing it down to the child. Male or unknown gender Pokemon have a chance of passing down the Hidden Ability only if bred with a Ditto.

Using an Ability Patch on a Pokémon gives it its Hidden Ability (unless its species does not have one). Pokémon encountered in grass patches that have more grass shaking off via the Poké Radar will have their Hidden Ability, if their species has one.

Hidden Abilities will ALWAYS be removed if you move a new Pokemon into Home - Pokemon Scarlet.

These items include the Everstone and the Destiny Knot, and using them is the most effective way to breed a Pokémon with the stats and nature you want. A parent holding an Everstone will pass its nature, which affects how its stats develop, to the resulting Pokémon.

What Pokémon cannot breed with Ditto? ›

The only thing that can't breed with ditto are baby Pokemon like Riolu, pichu, togepi etc. And the new fossils. And Type: Null. And Silvally.

Ditto cannot pass on Poké Balls. In previous generations only females could pass down Poké Balls, but in Sun and Moon, males and genderless Pokémon can as well. When breeding a male and female Pokémon of different species, the female's Poké Ball has priority over the male's.

Human and Ditto, you get a variable clone. Ditto DNA is the most submissive DNA that the offspring will be the same as the parent or with some differences. The offspring could be female compared to male, longer hair, different skin color, and etc.

To check if your Pokémon has a Hidden Ability, you'll want to look at it's summary. Underneath its Ability, it'll list if it has a Hidden Ability — though it won't show you if it's been unlocked. This is something you'll have to keep track of on your own.

A Pokémon that has its Hidden Ability due to the Ability Patch can pass down its Hidden Ability via breeding like any other Pokémon with its Hidden Ability. The Hidden Ability slot provided by the Ability Patch is retained even if the Pokémon evolves and has a different standard Ability.
