This is the two door fridge + drawer freezer, model GI7FVCXWY0After about a year, and I think it lasted this long because the ice maker was off during winter (because unless you use it constantly you have a solid block of ice), after a year it stopped making ice and poured water out from the top of the fridge. Expensive extended warranty came and replaced the Ice Maker, which (about a year later) has just started leaking all over the floor (again).This I suspect was a protest against using all of the ice one day. It froze up, which causes the leak, froze solid items that were in the fridge compartment (and spoiled some items).The other design fault is while the right hand door will stay open, the left will not, it closes. But it does not close properly - just enough to make you think it is closed.Dangle beers in a nearby stream, keep your food in the cellar, dig a deep hole in the backyard, learn to eat all your food the day you buy it, but do not buy this fridge!

We purchased a Whirlpool hot water heater approximately 4-5 years ago and have had problems with the pilot staying lit. I contacted Whirlpool and their trouble shooting included doing a draft test (I am a teacher not a plumber) and removing the closet door that houses the unit. I am very frustrated by this entire ordeal and would like if they would replace the entire unit. At this point I dont want another Whirlpool product. The plumber made a service call at 12 noon and by 3:30 we had luke warm water and by 6:00 pm the water was ice cold! I will never recommend any Whirlpool products.

We got a DEAL for this nightmare for nearly $700 back in 2014. Nothing but problems. Constantly finding plastic pieces at the bottom... some identifiable; others not. They are from the cheap parts within. The control board lights (all but 1 works) went just after the 1 yr mark. We are now having to replace the top Rack Adjuster (MORE CHEAP PLASTIC), as it has been barely hanging on for the last year and a half... constantly fighting it, as it would drop all the dishes if you moved it wrong.Now, the water is not draining at all... period. We clean this religiously - always rinse dishes completely, use rinse aid, never stuff dishes. Today we find a random plastic piece, which we are now trying to identify. NOTE: we dont put plastics in the dishwasher. So, today a new plastic piece and major drain problems. We are in the market and purchasing a new French Door Refrigerator and Front Load Washer. Will NOT be going with anything Whirlpool. Not much better these days, but this name has a big RED NO for us. Made it even worse when we contacted for help after that 1 yr mark. NO HELP AT ALL.

After 5 mins getting through the phone prompts and another 30 mins on hold I finally spoke with a rep name Ashley who state that there was no account or record of my warranty. She connected me to another department where I spoke with Eva. I was advised that since the company that sold me the warranty was out of business whirlpool would set up an account for me if I faxed the information documenting my original purchase. I faxed the information, waited three days without a response. I called today went through the phone prompts and could not reach the reps I spoke with before. The reps today were not helpful and refused to even try to get me to the reps I spoke with before. I was advised that the previous reps provided inaccurate information.If an appliance comes with a one year warranty and a consumer purchases a 5 yr extended warranty should it be added to the 1 yr or is the first year included in the 5yrs? Wouldnt it only be a 4 yr extended warranty if that were the case? I am very disappointed in the lack of quality of my washer and misrepresentation that was communicated by whirlpool reps. At the very least they should answer the phone promptly and honor the commitment to repair products. This is the case number (**) I was provided the first time I called, but it is not recognized by the reps I spoke with the 2nd time. I was provided 866.368.6478 as a contact# and a fax#. I faxed my receipts to that number as instructed.

Washer, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, stove, microwave and I have had issues with every product after the first year, from plastic parts failing. That should have been made out of metal, to motherboard replacement. I work Hard for my Money, and when I need to buy a new appliance, I want truth in advertisem*nt of what I am spending MY MONEY on. I would like a product that is built to last!!! If whirlpool cannot offer this we need to COMPLAIN all over the Internet until whirlpool changes their design and uses better parts for their products. This is a replacement of a similar model, that lasted 23 years. This modest, white, 2 door, side by side refrigerator, was purchased without the optional ice maker. It was bought specifically for the dimensions, of our custom cabinets. There are obvious differences, from the previous incarnation. The textured doors were replaced with a smooth glossy finish and their height extends higher than the refrigerator cabinet. The adjustable shelves were replaced with less adjustable pre fixed shelf supports. The LED interior lighting is much brighter that the incandescent bulbs they replaced. Overall, so far a very capable refrigerator, for a moderately sized kitchen and if the life, lasts as long as the one it replaced, this was a very good purchase.

The finish is good and has no chips. I would expect the top to be easier to clean and keep clean with the finish technologies available. Same for the oven window glass - it is not easy to clean and keep clean.

I bought a Amana and am disgusted that it is only 3 years old and needs to be replaced because of a transmission problem with it not agitating. It costs more to repair than it is worth. As a consumer, I should be given a choice whether I want to upscale or be satisfied with older model features. I will never buy or recommend a Amana HE washer to anyone. My mother also has one, has had it for a year and it is already giving her problems. Shame on you Whirlpool.

I purchased a Whirlpool Gold top freezer refrigerator (G2IXEFMWQ03) in May 2011. Six months later, the freezer began to collect frost and eventually clogged the refrigerator port from freezer. Since cold air from the freezer was not going to fridge, I had to turn down the refrigerator temp to lowest setting. I had a service person come out and replace Adaptive Defrost Control under warranty - it would have cost me around $250. Now roughly 12 months after repair, the defrost issue is back. The part cost me $175, and that is if I install it myself. I called and mailed Whirlpool which was a waste of time. This is the last Whirlpool I plan to purchase. For the same issue to occur in this short time span, it has engineering flaw written all over it.

Also it needs cleaning but a neighbor with the same model said whatever you do dont use the self clean for the oven, as they did & it literally burnt out the control panel costing them over $400!! Say what?? So we cant use the self-clean feature or well really fry the control board... Would LOVE to hear Whirlpools explanation on this one... Purchased a gas hot water heater from Lowes in October 2015. Installed the hot water tank and two months later started smelling a faint gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool and they thought it was the gas valve and replaced part, but had to pay $30 for overnight shipping. Had plumber install new part and did not fix the issue. Called plumber back out and he found a small pin hole size leak behind pilot light. Patched the leak and still had a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box. Called Whirlpool back and after some back and forth was able to get hot water tank replaced, since it was only two months old and should not need any maintenance that soon. Replaced water heater with new tank and this tank has a gas smell coming from around the Honeywell box as well. We replaced all our lines and even had the fire department check out our gas lines. Could not find anything. I am still baffled as to why this tank has a gas smell coming from the Honeywell box. I cant seem to find anyone else having this issue. Whirlpool or Lowes has not been any help. Ready to unhook it and buy another brand. Anyone have this issue?

Technician’s visit today was $70 for the information that we would be better off buying a new one because the motherboard is gone. However, after reading all the horror stories which are already here, I realize that we are relatively lucky - at least, our stove worked for 3 years... Still very disappointed and unhappy. No more Whirlpool products!

That was a bad experience last summer and I had to complain through every avenue I could find just to get the replacement part shipped to the repair shop. Now I know it was not too smart on my part, but I bought a Whirlpool washer last September. You guessed it, not even a year old and it is not working. All I am hoping for in this posting is to help some other hardworking consumer make a better choice with their money. It is probably not advisable to buy Whirlpool.

After 50+ years of doing laundry, I had to purchase my 3rd washer. I bought the new top loader without an agitator. I very quickly learned that it has no lint filter. My first load was towels and mats. The lint clogged up my tub and drain pouring water all over the floor. Since then it has ruined many of my clothes which are mostly sweaters and sweater-knits. Without a lint filter, it deposits the lint right back on the clothes where it stays forever unless I shave or pick it off, even though Ive turned them inside-out. (Time consuming waste!) Even my socks have little balls of lint. It seems the only safe fabrics are new, smooth woven cottons, cotton-blends and slippery nylon providing there is no lace or brushed elastic.Now to the no fabric-softener dispenser... The Downy ball simply doesnt work, and theres no other way to add it. Waiting to use dryer sheets is too late; the damage is done. My clothes are dingy. In my 50+ years of ownership, I have never had to purchase a separate product to wash my washer so that it doesnt stink... and it does. Why does it lock after starting? If I could afford to replace it, I would... but I cant.

Tuesday, I want my broken old Kenmore washer back! My kids clothes came out dingy. Did a second rinse & spin but didnt help. Second batch had to be rewashed. Some areas were not even wet. Had to pause it to add more water to & again to rinse it. Plus I had to mix my softener into a cup of water to add it on rinse because I forgot the rinse ball, unlike the old washer where I add into dispenser & forget about it. So unhappy & dissatisfied.

We just love the hidden icemaker, the outside display for temps, ice, water, external H2O and crushed or cubes, and the LED inside lighting is fantastically bright, the space, moveable shelves, the quiet, the overall efficiency, huge drawers freezer, the wide open doors, the separate temps for vegetables, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. The separate filters in the refrigerator eliminate any smells. Easiest water filter to change we have ever had on any make refrigerator. Over the years, this is the first refrigerator of perhaps 7, we have truly never regretted buying it and frequently comment how happy we are with it!

Since then it makes a loud clunking sound and it has to go through at least 2 or 3 dry cycles to dry the clothes, sometimes more. The washer lid lock doesnt work very well anymore. Sometimes it wont lock so I cant get the clothes washed. It takes forever to get it to work. Ill never buy Whirlpool again.

Thinking it is best to call Whirlpool for repairs under warranty, they decided to send out a technician from A&E Factory Repair. This is where the service sucks.A&E needed me to wait about 2 weeks for the first available appointment for service. When the technician arrived and pulled out the dishwasher, he told me that he would not repair it because he didnt like where the hose was installed through the cabinet. He insisted that only after the hose was moved, they would return to fix the leak if it was still an issue.Of course, the hose was then moved and the machine still leaks. So, I called A&E back to schedule another service call. I was again told that the next available service call was 2 weeks out.Now, the day before the service call, I receive a phone call from A&E, telling me that they have to reschedule the service call that is supposed to be for tomorrow. Once again, the earliest next available appointment is another week out.If it was now not past the original 30 days to be able to return the item to Lowes, I would have already done that. By the time the first A&E service call happened, it was already past the 30 days in which I could have returned it to Lowes.I will never purchase Whirlpool again simply because they use A&E service center.

Purchased Feb 2013 - worked okay until one month ago. Now stalls in the drain and spin cycle. The rotation of the drum sounds awful, makes a loud grinding noise. I tried doing the diagnostic reset of holding the Temp button in for 3 sec, release, 3 sec more but that didnt work. Also, I have noticed clothes are DRY after the Wash cycle! Managed to interrupt the wash and unlock the lid and was very disappointed. This is not a good quality piece of equipment. This seems to be a very common problem. How unfortunate.

We purchased the extended warranty (service plan number **). The washing machine has been giving trouble. It locks out during every wash cycle and each time, we have to unplug the machine to reset it. Sometimes it makes it through the next cycle and sometimes, not. The first couple of calls we made, we were told to make sure it was cleaned, to make sure it was leveled. All this was done and we still have the same problem. Finally, a technician was sent out. He could not duplicate the problem and left. Thirty minutes after he left, the machine locked out again. We put in for another call, we were told it would be two more days. In the meantime, we actually video taped the next three times it locked up. This time, when the technician came out, he was able to see our video as well as saw the machine lock up. He stated, It did not give me a code so I do not know what else to do. He left and ten minutes after he left, it locked out again. We immediately called back and they informed us they could not get anyone out again until next week. This is very frustrating to have an obvious problem and have an extended warranty and the problem cannot be solved. We feel as if we are being blown off. Is there anything you can do to help us and/or give us advise of how to get this problem resolved?

Typically, my experience with washing machines is I buy a new one after years of service simply because I want a more updated model. I just bought a different brand to replace the Cabrio as it has another broken hinge (one rusted out. How bizarre is that?) And it wont work on some of the choices for cycles. The first time I called whirlpool, they were totally unresponsive and told me there was not any problems with the machine even though the part I needed was on backorder for three weeks. I have never been so frustrated with a product I thought was a reliable brand, not!

I sent this machine to my hometown (India) in the same packing and I used the washing machine only for three months and found a complaint. I informed this to service center in Trivandrum, Kerala. Their team came to my home and told me that warranty cannot be given as I purchased machine overseas. They added that the PCB for the machine is having complaint and they dont have stock in India. Also, the machine is no longer available in the factory. The Whirlpool company completely stopped manufacturing the abovementioned model. Again, I came to UAE and contacted GEC group of companies for the PCB part. I got a quotation for PCB Dhs 425/- but the items is ex-stock with them. The machine cost only Dhs 1999/- and if I spend Dh425/- only for PCB, and the machine is with me for the parts since one and half years. I dont know what to do. If I spend another Dhs 600 + this PCB cost then Id rather go for another new branded washing machine. The model of machine is AWO1D8810S and serial no. is 12 nc 859247463000 003. Please advise what to do or if I can find the PCB in Kerala. What will be the cost? I am ready to pay the money for PCB but not for the above rates. Please advise, sir.

Because of some previous issues we had had with a dishwasher we had bought, and at the direction of a repairman, we bought the 4 year extended warranty when we bought the washing machine and dryer. Thank heavens!!! About 3 months after the manufacturers warranty expired, I began to have issues with the washer. Again, thank heavens I had purchased the warranty through Lowes because after 6 visits from the repairman to fix one problem after another, Lowes finally junked the machine and said it was no longer cost effective to try to repair it. I was SO frustrated! And, attempts to contact Whirlpool regarding the issues were COMPLETELY useless!!! Thinking it was just a fluke, I replaced the broken washer with another exact model (I know, I know... should have done my homework!).This time, after replacing the motherboard within two months of owning the new machine, the machine began to work fine, and washed great! Again, I thought I had just gotten a lemon with the previous machine. But, here we are 4 years into owning the new one, and it has completely quit working. Clothes smelled like mildew despite cleaning the machine as recommended. So, I called out a repairman, he said the transmission had gone out and it would be cheaper to just replace the machine. What?? I spent almost $700 on it only 4 years ago! When I told him this, his response was that he had seen repeated problems with this machine and felt like they were disposable washing machines that you had to figure would only last a few years before having to be replaced. Again, WHAT??I dont know about everyone else, but I dont have $700 to throw around every 3-4 years to replace new appliances because the manufacturers cant/wont make a better product. We had owned a Whirlpool dishwasher, and it had all kinds of problems too. So, once again, I contacted Whirlpool about the washing machine and got nowhere!!! SO disappointing!!! Absolutely the WORST customer service I have EVER seen!!! In 2013 we thought that we bought a 30 cubic foot refrigerator model no. WRF989SDAM from Appliance Direct, Melbourne, FL. Months later we realized that it was only a 27 cubic foot unit. Two months after the warranty expired the unit started failing. Called the dealer and was told that they would have the service department to call us. Never heard from the dealer again. Finally I called an independent service company. After testing the unit the technician told us that the evaporator may be leaking. They offered to replace it for a price of nearly $500 with only a 90 day warranty. Realizing that it would work at least 90 days after the repair regardless if that was the problem or not.I decided that we did not want to spent that much money. Having refrigerator experience in previous years, I decide to add a piercing valve and adding refrigerant. Every few months I have to add refrigerant to keep the unit going. This unit has run nearly all time since the delivery. Corresponding with Whirlpool is somewhat like throwing a bottle in the ocean. I also noticed that Whirlpool has dropped the price of this unit quite a lot, must be to loss of customers. And yes I am 83 years old and handicapped and never had a problem like this to affect me so much.

Just yesterday, the keypad numbers stopped working. I cannot even set a temperature for the oven. So now, I can only use the burners. I called Whirlpool today. They told me that my stove does not have any recalls so there is nothing they can do about it. I spoke with Jessica in Michigan. I told her how dissatisfied I was that the stove is only 2 years old and the most important part (the buttons) stopped working and they only cover this for one year. She told me that I have to remember that man made things are made to stop working at some time. I told her they should work for longer than 2 years. I remember way back when my parents bought a stove or fridge and they lasted for 15 to 20 years before breaking or stopping to work.I am a long time Whirlpool customer and always had good luck with their products. But I really feel that they should fix this problem. I could understand if the stove was 8 or 10 years old and something broke after using it, but not after 2 years. I will definitely tell everyone I know to not buy Whirlpool or Maytag since they are one in the same. My wife and I bought my mom a Whirlpool Cabrio. It worked fine but after a while it stopped working properly. It would take forever to start washing. We called Lowes and they said it was fine. Second time they came out, they replaced a part that was the problem. Again it didnt work. Would start to wash two to three hours after you hit start. My mom had nothing but problems with it. My wife and I had a Samsung washer and dryer which worked excellent. We sold them when we moved and our apartment had no washer/dryer connection. I should have given them to my mom. So she was tired of her washer and we set out to buy a new one.So since I had a Samsung, I convinced to get one also. We went to the Sears outlet and found a really nice Samsung washer for around $500. So far, the machine has worked well. No complaints and gets the clothes clean. So for anyone that has had problems buying appliances and is looking for a new one, well, Samsung is doing a great job so far.

I purchased a Whirlpool refrigerator, model # ED2FHAX005, serial #SW1126490, two years ago. I have nothing but trouble with the ice maker. It keeps jamming up with frozen cube. While under warranty, I had it fixed but since then, it has happened twice more. The repairman who fixed it said there was a part missing and a part of the unit was melted. Not only that, but the plastic is coming off on the handle. Nobody at Whirlpool will help me. Too bad, there is no warranty anymore. This refrigerator is a lemon. I am so sorry that I purchased it.

When the temperature achieved to 400 degree, I put my cake in not even 5 minutes and go to dining room to pick up something. When I turn around, I saw the oven window is so bright and I open the door right away, it has fire from the left side bottom. I turn off the power right away but still has big fire. So I use the fire extinguisher to get the fire off.I went to Lowes to complain, this product is still under the manufacture warranty and I also purchased two years extended warranty from the store. Lowes sent the 3rd party technician over to check, they open the bottom element and insist I drop something to catch on fire. He tried 350F degree is working. But the fact is, theres nothing dropped, no oil, water or and any ingredients, only fire extinguisher powder all over the bottom. Technician put back the cover, I asked him, How do I clean up the bottom extinguisher mess? He said, You dont need to, just clean the top, and wont try 400F degree for me since the top didnt clean up. I asked him, I am so fear to use it now, you asked me to clean it up and try again. I only use my oven to bake cakes, cookies, and muffins, and that day the cake even not still raise yet. How could it catch on fire? Is this product defective? I doubt it.I also called Whirlpool, they said most likely its short circuit. They only provide the repair, unless it cant be repaired, then they replace it. Manufacturer also told me that my temperature is high. I dont think so. I have no problem to use any oven in 425-450 in the past. If this is high, why your stove has function to that high degree? I am so upset with both services. From my concern, nothing dropped to bottom and caught on fire. They all refused to replace the new one and asked me to continue using it. I really dont feel confident to use this one and dont know who can help me to replace it.

I waited a couple of hours before testing the water temperature and it was cold. I checked the temperature setting and it was set at one twenty five, I went to Lowes and informed the service person and was told there was nothing they could do about it, I had to call the number on the tank for Whirlpool. I called the number and was told they could come out to check it but we would be responsible for the labor charges. I didnt understand why because it was under warranty and we had also purchased the extended warranty. I informed my wife so she could deal with Whirlpool because I was going to work. My wife called a number of times and was getting transferred from one person to another and getting no help at all. She was told by one person that it was maybe a problem with the wiring in our home or maybe the plumbing. One person told her that it was not their problem. We had to finally pay an electrician to come out to look at it and had to pay him to replace a heating element. The cost of the electrician and the part came to an extra two seventy five dollars. The only real help that we received was from Lowes managers that were willing to take the water heater back if we could get an authorization number to return the water which Whirlpool claimed they did not have any type of a number. Our 400 dollar water heater turned into an almost 700 dollar water heater. We had also purchased a refrigerator from Lowes that was the Whirlpool brand that quit working after about four months and we had to pay to have it fixed. Needless to say, we will never again purchase any Whirlpool products or recommend them to anyone. The service was very very poor and we are not happy with Whirlpool.

Compared to others it gets the dishes clean and is easy enough to operate. Like everything else it has more bells and whistles than I want or use. Fill it up, put soap in and punch the desired settings and it does what it is programmed to do. Overall size seems to be like all the other models Ive used. Stainless with buttons on top of door. The top basket/drawer has latches that get tripped allowing the basket to drop down and confusing my wife. Not the best arrangement IMHO. Seems like the spacing of the supports in the bottom basket are off, but that may be due to our plates and bowls shapes.

They know they have a faulty product and keep selling it. Some companies are only out for the money. If that wasnt the case, they would discontinue the junk. They will send you replacement parts but if you know nothing about them, you have to put out more money for someone to come and fix it. I would love to send them the bill! I would not recommend this brand of anything to anyone.

Whirlpools front load washers do not have easy access to the drain pump filter. The entire front of the machine including the door has to be taken off to access the filter. When putting washer back together the parts are cheap and screws break. Most companies that sell front load washers provide easy access to the drain pump filter. Buy one of those instead of a Whirlpool and you will save yourself a lot of time and hassle.

The first time it was covered by the 1 year warranty, but this time (12/11) Ill have to pay $130 just for one shelf. Unless the quality of the product has improved, Ill probably expect to have to replace them again within the year. Needless to say, Ill never buy Whirlpool products again. Im out $130 because Whirlpool will not replace them for free because the product is no longer under warranty.

Last year, Sears came and did the work and made their arrangements to have the part replaced. This year 2012, March 9 my gas control valve went again. The unit is not even a year old and broke again. Unfortunately, the six-year warranty is up on the hot water tank. I called Whirlpool two times. The first time, the guy told me that the warranty was up and hung up on me! The second time, the guy would not honor the replacing of a part that is not even a year old yet. The money I spent over the six years making repair on it, I could have bought a new one. I called Home Depot and was told to call Whirlpool since I was still under a year warranty. After numerous calls I was referred to Advantage |Appliances, a company that provides repair services for Whirlpool. After a week the technician showed up and briefly inspects the machine to conclude that there were two problems with the machine: The controller is defective and there might be another problem since the water is not draining. An order was placed for the part and another week went by with still no part. I called the corporate office only to hear that it might take 5 to 7 days to receive it. In the meantime I had laundry piling up. I was forced to go to the laundromat with one arm in a cast and a painful lower back. I finally received the part on Friday and the technician arrived on Saturday to install the part and then announces that she was willing to fix the water pump but had to get paid in cash since this was not included in the warranty. Now mind you! This woman knew about the problem from her last visit but made believe that it wasnt a problem. Advantage Appliance makes money by extorting their customers out of money. This young lady stood there without blinking asking me to pay her $89.50 to do the job she was suppose to do in the first place. I purchased an extended warranty from Home Depot only to find out that they would not be able to do anything since I was still under warranty. I have never been so angry and want Whirlpool to take responsibility. I am sitting with a washer half full with water and no one is stepping up to do something! Whirlpool is disgusting! Then after that, the machines were breaking down every time we turned around at the worst times. With 2 adults and 4 children, you see my point. We have had a repairman at our house to fix these machines 6 times and now, we are getting a code on our washer that is F1. Looking up codes online shows to be the computer system of the machine and a $400-$600 repair, might I add. Please save your money and buy a better and more dependable set than Whirlpool. Washers and dryers used to last 20-25 years, or so my parents and grandparents did. All of the manufacturers are building cheap junk so we can buy them more often.

Thus, we didnt start using the washer and dryer until 3 months after purchase. One month after usage we had our first service call. To the point, what the other reviews say are the exact experience that we are having. Unfortunately, we did not do our research before buying. The washer: Clothes come out wrinkled, littered with lint, and the wash cycles are excessively long. The dryer: Clothes take a long time to dry, and most times we run the dry cycle twice because, after the first cycle, the clothes are still damp.Even though the washer and dryer can accommodate larger loads, we are forced to break out the laundry into smaller loads to get better results. Still, doing the laundry is negative experience with the Cabrio. Recently, it took nine hours to fully complete 5 loads of wash. That included the dryer cycle. The repairman said that he is well familiar with the issue. It is the new technology. The software is incredibly sensitive and can fault easily. This leads to another negative feature. The software is restrictive leaving the user with little control over how they want the wash and dry cycles to perform.Going back to the conversation we had with the repairman. He said he had a Whirlpool washer and dryer at home that was over 10 years old. The old fashion kind with the dials and less complicated technology; and he has never had an issue. I have to agree with that. Our second home has the Whirlpool Duet (washer and dryer) that are 13 years old. Never had a problem technically and with washing and drying clothing. We plan to try to contact Whirlpool about their return policy. Not a quality product. Definitely cannot recommend this washer and dryer. We truly purchased junk.

I noticed then that there were some burnt grease spots and streaks between the oven glass door. After 2 years of use, it has gotten much worse so I decided to take the door apart to try to clean the glass in between the layers of glass but there are three instead of two. I cleaned the inside of the outer glass, but that didnt take care of the problem. Most of the stains are between the other two panes of glass. That, I cant get to. I feel that this is poor design and not sealed properly. I take good care of everything I own and I expected this range to last me the rest of my life but it is put together with cheap plastic parts that wont last long. It is the first new range that I ever owned and paid a lot more for it than any Ive had. I expected better.

I have always had good luck with Whirlpool products, with this dishwasher continuing with being a quality product for the amount of money spent.

They will cover the cost of the control panel and defrost control. The other one I paid to replace was only one month old and it failed again. In the time between that I had to have an Icing kit put in as the Ice maker was causing ice to form inside the back wall of the refrigerator. My first call to Whirlpool was very unsatisfactory. I ended up paying for the part and the service call. The second call was about the ice-maker and they were aware of the problem and sent me a repair kit for the problem. I still had to pay for repair service. So far I have paid $561.62 for their defective parts and service calls. This time my wife called (while I was taking my frozen foods to my neighbors freezer for the second time) and went through 3 people before being told the part was still under warranty and they will send a new one. When we pushed for proper service we got it. We should never have had to go through all this. We also lost over $300.00 of frozen foods. Never buy a Whirlpool refrigerator!!!

Again, the downside is the silverware in the door is inconvenient. The easiest way to load is to basically leave the door partially open. With the door fully open you have to slide the silverware in sideways where it also tends to catch on other silverware. Perfect for 4 people. About two weeks after my manufacturers warranty expired, I called Whirlpool because the refrigerator wasnt working anymore. It took several weeks and the need to call four different repair companies before we finally had one that was willing and able to come attempt to repair the refrigerator. They came out, changed a few parts and left. Several weeks later, the refrigerator quit again. This time, when I called whirlpool (about June 2014), I was able to convince them to give me an extended warranty. They told me that the warranty would expire in December, and that all the work and service would be covered up to that date. This was fortunate because that repair, parts alone, was near a thousand dollars. Of course, the repair company couldnt make these repairs in my kitchen, so they had to remove the refrigerator and take it to their shop for several days. By this point, we had lost two refrigerators full of food. In mid-November 2014, the refrigerator quit again. We lost another refrigerator full of food. We called Whirlpool and the repair company again, and the repair was scheduled. I have six children and we spent Thanksgiving without a refrigerator in our home. The repair shop kept the refrigerator for several days after they fixed it to make sure it wouldnt leak coolant, because by this time, they had figured out that there were several pin hole sized leaks in the coolant line. It didnt leak. They had it for about four weeks total before they brought it back to us. By the next morning after having the refrigerator plugged in for several hours in our kitchen, the temp was at 65 degrees in the refrigerator and 60 in the freezer. I called the repair company again and whirlpool. The repair company has come to the conclusion that there must be a leak in the coolant line in the walls of the refrigerator and it is deemed unrepairable. They called the whirlpool tech line and the tech people told them to come back to our house and read the pressures the next day. They came out, read the pressures, determined that coolant had leaked out and told the tech department it was not repairable. The tech department told them to go through the entire cooling system again. This is something they have done several times. Today, they brought the refrigerator back after going through the entire cooling system, yet again. Its still not working. As I type this, my refrigerator is at a balmy 55 degrees. The repair company and I have both, on numerous occasions requested a replacement refrigerator. This was a very high end purchase for us. The original cost of the refrigerator was around $3,000. I have lost around $1500 worth of food, which Ive also requested on numerous occasions for Whirlpool to reimburse and they refuse. Whirlpool refuses to replace the refrigerator. Today, I found out that, by mistake, they gave me a one year extended warranty instead of six months. They said that it does not expire until June 19, 2015. Even with this information, they told me that the best offer that they will give me is IF I am willing to EXCHANGE my lemon that is in my kitchen right now, they will SELL me a replacement refrigerator at a discount. They say that the terms of the extended warranty are different than terms of a manufacturers warranty.This is unacceptable. I am currently out several thousand dollars for an over sized filtered water dispenser in my kitchen. Throughout 2014, we spent somewhere between three and four months without a working refrigerator in our home. As of right now, I havent had a working refrigerator for about six weeks and through Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. I bought the refrigerator because I thought it would act like a refrigerator and not a paper weight. An Implied Warranty of Merchantability has no expiration date. It requires that the goods be fit for the ordinary purposes for which they are to be used. This refrigerator is not fit to be used.Id also like to mention that during the times that Ive spoken with Whirlpool on the phone, they have told me that they would replace the refrigerator if the repair company deemed it unrepairable. Typically when I call whirlpool, I am on hold for fifteen to thirty minutes before I get to a representative. Today, I was on hold for forty minutes before my call was disconnected. This has happened numerous times. Ive also had representatives disconnect the call several times when they were transferring me to another department, or putting me on hold. I estimate that I have spent at least forty hours on the phone with the customer service department for whirlpool in the last several months. And even, with all that, I have not had a dependable refrigerator for eight months. I need this resolved and I dont feel that it is fair for me to be financially punished because of the lemon that Ive already purchased from Whirlpool.

I called Whirlpool C.S. and they claimed they knew nothing and said our fridge was on no problem list. I had repairman call Whirlpool and they claimed appropriate tool/gauges are no longer available! This fridge is only 1 year old!!! Now we are completely ignored. Whirlpool will not even talk to us about help of any kind. HORRIBLE customer service!!! Crappy appliance! After removing the top of the washer and checking the door switch to see if there was a loose wire, I traced the wire back to the micro control unit, and upon inspection of the micro control unit, I found that the terminal that the door switch wire was attached to was loose and not making contact with circuit board.Although the washer is out of warranty being 7 years old, this is clearly not a part that is subject to wear and tear. The part was clearly manufactured poorly. I looked on the internet to purchase a new part but it seems that all micro control units are out of stock. This makes me wonder if one should start a class action suit as my part could be one of hundreds that was poorly manufactured. I called Whirlpool to see if they would send me another part to replace the bad unit but they said that because the washer was out of warranty, they could not help.

November 4, 2017 we purchased a 2018 Tiffin RV with a Whirlpool 3-door refrigerator/freezer. We did not use the RV refrigerator until our first trip to Florida January 2018. Immediate problems with the freezer icing up on freezer door and icing up in the top 2 shelves of refrigerator. Milk, fruit, even cheese froze in the top of the refrigerator. Bottom freezer door froze so bad I had to yank on the drawer very hard to even get it open & chunks of ice would fall off the door on the floor outside once it opened. Called Whirlpool warranty service phone number two times 2/16/2018. I wont go into all the details but we were on hold for a 90 minutes and were transferred 7 times by the automated system. Talked to one person, Lindsey, who immediately transferred me again to RV Dept. No one ever answered. System kept saying, Please wait. Then just disconnected and another recording came on saying to call back. We did not after this fiasco! February 19, 2018 we called Tiffin MH & told them about the NO CUSTOMER SERVICE from Whirlpool. They told us to call Sears in Sebring, FL. We did. If we wanted Whirlpool service to bring the motorhome to them & the warranty only covered parts NOT labor or service calls. They did not want to work on it. March 13, 2018 We went to Tiffin MH Service in Red Bay, AL. Earl called Whirlpool tech, Steve, & tried to explain the problem. Steve told him he did not talk on speaker phone & told him very hatefully to put him on the private line. Steve just very angrily insisting that Earl had him on speaker phone. I do not understand Whirlpools Steve issue with being on speaker phone? Finally Earl got him to listen to our refrigerator problems as he stood there at the refrigerator going through each issue step-by-step. Steve said to put silicon in the seal & that Whirlpool WOULD NOT replace a 3 month old refrigerator that actually had only been used 2 months. We found out later Tiffin is going to replace the refrigerator.

My clothes did not seem clean; stains were still on them, when I used the delicate cycle a pair of pants went in folded and came out folded!!! I also would have to redistribute the clothes every time I had a load that was larger than five pieces, because it would stop. I would actually have to take clothes out and spin what was remaining then put those in the dryer and put the other clothes back in and spin those again. I was told I needed to use OxiClean on top of my normal detergent in order to get my clothes clean. Never again will I purchase a Whirlpool. Just bought an LG; fingers crossed.

It is a low level-water unit that has no agitator ability in it and does not provide enough water to even slightly clean clothes. Everything must be sorted into the smallest loads possible and even then the clothes dont clean because they beehive into a ball and do not agitate. Technician says the machine cannot be fixed and simply recommends it be trashed (it is 1 1/2 years old). Technician recommends going back to front loaders where at least the clothes agitate. Called Whirlpool for help and was told all system are down...duhhhh. Call back in an hour and Good Luck.

On 12/31/2009, I purchased a Whirlpool Cabrio, model# WTW6800WW1. I was excited as we have never spent that kind of money on a washer. We felt as though we had purchased a higher end washer and would have it for years to come. Wrong! About one year in to its use, I began to think it was getting louder during the spin cycles. I thought I was just being critical and it was just my sensitive ears. Now just past the two-year mark, I know it was not me. It’s the POS washer. It is so incredibly loud, not that you cannot be in the same room as it is during the washing time especially the spin cycle. In its defense, my clothes got cleaned.However, I know that the bearing is eventually going to give out and I will have a mandatory repair on my hands or have to pay someone to fix it. Either way, it’s a lot of time and a lot of money to fix a two-year old washer that should not need to be fixed. I attempted at getting Whirlpool to stand behind their product. No chance, no way. Good luck with that. Their washers last about 2-3 years. I will never purchase another Whirlpool product. This is a horrible product which is matched by their horrible customer service.

I contacted the power company and they sent a tech over who performed a lengthy diagnostic and determined that my water heater was running constantly thus accounting for the great increase in power, I contacted Whirlpool and received 2 heating elements (no charge) which my pricey plumber replaced.The problem still remained and I contacted Whirlpool again and again trying to get this issue resolved. I paid less than $400.00 for the heater installed and since Ive been having the issue Ive almost paid another $400.00 in labor costs trying to get a resolution. 3-4 years ago, I had replaced my hot water heater with a Whirlpool, which was purchased at Lowes. On 10/23/11, I awoke to a flooded basem*nt from the said water heater. When I entered the basem*nt, I was able to verify that the water was spraying right from the casing of the unit. Who knows how long it had been spraying, but the place was a complete mess. The water was about 10 inches deep and many things were ruined. I proceeded back to Lowes and purchased another exact unit. This morning I awoke to the sound of what seemed to be water bubbling, only to enter the basem*nt and see exactly what I saw just three weeks previously... another flooded basem*nt from water just pouring out the side of the unit. This is an obvious defect in craftsmanship. Now I find myself with a flooded basem*nt, no hot water, and a decision to make. Do I fight for another replacement or give up on the brand? A replacement water heater will solve my lack of hot water but for now, the question is for how long? Not to mention the cost and time spent with the clean up I did twice.

I purchased by first Whirlpool Cabrio washer in 2007 with an extended warranty (my husband did not want me to buy). Thank goodness I did. The machine had repeated issues to the point that the service repairman and I were on first name basis. Finally, the mother board went out. The rust on the sides was excessive and of course my expensive sheets and towels were being shredded. Lowe’s extended warranty plan did honor this and replaced my machine with a new Cabrio washer (big mistake!). The new machine; receipt for this was over $1,600.00, including the new extended warranty that ends in 2014, was bought on 3-25-09. It now requires a new drum and bearings which are being replaced today (9-19-12); however, the corrosion is just as bad and my clothes are still being shredded. Oh, also the lid no longer locks and to get the machine to actually run. I have to physically hold down the lid until the lid locks. The repairman said that there is nothing he can do as the company will not repair this or replace the machine again under warranty! The joints where the lid attaches have rusted through and that is why the lid cant lock. The whole lid needs to be replaced and the company says it would cost about the same as a new machine about $690.00. What a rip-off this company is for the consumer! I will never, ever deal with Whirlpool again and I mean never, ever again! (sans Taylor Swift)!

A technician came out and the mother board needs replaced because water got into it... its a dishwasher. The cost to fix $465. I paid $673. The sales person informed me that I should have purchased the extended warranty because the appliances now only last a few years. Seriously... fleecing of America. This is my last purchase from Sears. We have bought appliances for 30 years from Sears and this is the end. They could care less about customer service or their products. But last month my dryer started making terrible banging noise and so repairman says I need another part! I bought the part more money! Just to have it quit again! Now the barrel split! We bought the washer and dryer set almost three years ago. Great sales pitch! Energy saver, extra capacity, low water usage, Whirlpool name and I thought we were getting great quality! Three years later I am disgusted, disappointed and am junking the washer. The dryer has a new heating element that we proudly fixed ourselves after the repairmen told us that these were meant to be throwaways. We just thought he did not want to work on it. After watching several YouTube videos we had it apart and found the issue was a cracked heating element. We ordered a new one for 100$ and spent another 4 hours putting it back together. If we had to pay a repairmen to do all that the bill would have been the price of a cheap new one. Fast forward three weeks and now the washer quit and it can be one of at least 15 problems. After reading all these reviews we have decided to toss it as junk. It took forever to was a load of clothes negating any energy saving! Whirlpool should be ashamed of themselves for ripping off all of us hardworking Americans selling us junk. At one time the Whirlpool name meant you could count on a quality product! If Whirlpool really wanted to do the right thing, they would stop selling these immediately and give customers a credit toward the purchase of new washers and dryers!

I purchased a Whirlpool top load 8500 washing machine from LOWEs two years ago. I noticed that the clothes were not getting wet, clean, were coming out covered in lint, soap film and stained. It is misleading to call it a HE washer since I have to wash each load 3 - 4.5 hours. It is NOT energy efficient if you have to wash each load of clothes 3 times with a rinse. I have tried all of the tricks - changing soaps, labeling the wash as bulky, wetting the clothes to add weight... Washing clothes should not be this complicated. The clothes are sorted appropriately and washed in the right temperature. I do not understand what is staining the clothes. I put new white towels in and they come out stained (see photo)? Lowes sent out a repairman who said the machine would never clean the clothes since there was not enough water in the washing machine to wash the clothes. I tried to return the washer to Lowes but they said it was past the 30 days. Unfortunately, I purchased the appliances on a Lowes credit card so there was no recourse. I then contacted Whirlpool and was put on hold and transferred to various people before I gave up.

Then at 3 years the compressor went out and of course no cooling or freezing. Since we had bought this at Lowe’s they loaned us a fridge until ours was taken care of and told us to call whirlpool. When we called they said they would do nothing for us. Between them and Lowe’s we were finally able to get the refrigerator replaced by paying another $1,000. We have had the new fridge for a little under a year and the ice maker stopped working. While trying to get it working by their service repair people the cooling and freezer stopped working. The service people said the compressor is bad. We called whirlpool again they will not replace the refrigerator and said it will have to be repaired. The service company says compressors are on back order and don’t know when they will have one. All of this has been going on for 3 weeks at this time and who knows how much longer. I had to throw all of the food in my freezer away and as well as most of what was in the refrigerator. I am now buying ice every other day to keep some foods cool so we can have something to eat. We are 82 years old with a very limited income and find this very difficult to deal with. Whirlpool’s reply is sorry but they will not do anything since the fridge is under warranty.

After yet another frustrating round of laundry I have to write this. This has been the worst purchase (Cabrio 6800 Washer and Dryer) Ive ever made. Like other reviewers, I thought I was buying a high-end (high priced) product that has performed miserably from day one. Clothes do NOT come clean and for some reason, towels and dishcloths get ripped and shredded. All cycles (except sheets/towels) do not dispense enough water. Of course the one that does, results in the ripped and shredded problem. A little more than a year after purchase, we got an error code indicating the computer board was bad. Code would come up during initial cycle start and again at the start of the rinse cycle. Whirlpool basically said tough luck but shortly after, we started receiving offers in the mail to purchase an extended warranty for $175. Out of principle, I did not do this. Instead we discovered that we could push pause/start/pause/start multiple times and it would eventually keep going. We are still doing that on EVERY load of laundry (start and rinse cycles). I am not far from just biting the bullet and buying a new washer. It will not be a Whirlpool. One positive note is that the dryer has performed well, unlike some of the other reviewer experiences!

It was time to put the old Frigidaire Washer out to pasture. I researched for quite some time online to find just the right new one. Its all so confusing as they all claim to be the best. The Whirlpool WTW500DW Top Load is the one I chose to look at along with 2 comparable others. I have had Whirlpool appliances in the past and was always happy with them, so I will be honest, I was leaning towards Whirlpool. I purchased the WTW500DW and matching Dryer after looking at the 2 others first. Price was lower, features were more to my liking and better quality/sturdiness was very apparent to me. This was the lower priced machine out of the 3 but had everything I wanted and a little more. The HUGE wash basket is wonderful. I have literally cut our laundry down from 4-5 loads a week to 2! Our clothes have truly never been cleaner.I am amazed at the great job this machine does with a minimum amount of time and water. It is quiet, efficient and the cycles do what they are supposed to do. The absence of electronic pad buttons is greatly appreciated. Its standard dials are easy to read and set. In my opinion, Whirlpool has done it again. Its a great Washing Machine at a price that is lower than others without as many nice features, it is well built and does the job perfectly.
