Black Clover is originally a manga series written and illustrated by Yuki Tabata. It started Serializing in Shueishua’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2015. As of April 2022, the manga is comprised of 32 volumes.

Black Clover Plot
Black Clover introduces us to a world where there is magic everywhere. People are able to use magic with the help of “Grimoires” that they’re granted at a certain age.
The main protagonist of Black Clover is Asta who aspires to be the next Wizard King. He lives in an orphanage along with his friend named Yuno who has the same goal. Both of them have a bittersweet relationship but they do care about each other.
Asta has not been granted a grimoire while all others have been granted. This makes Asta feel devastated because he won’t be able to become the next Wizard King like that. However, after he saves Yuno from an enemy, he suddenly got his grimoire though it was a five-clover one.
He, along with Yuno, then set out on their journey towards the Clover Kingdom in order to chase their dreams. Many adventures await them as they meet different magic users who have the same goal as them.
Black Clover Major Characters
Asta
Asta is the main character of the series. He’s the most cheerful and energetic anime protagonist you would ever come across. He’s also very annoying because he overreacts to most things. One of the greatest things about Asta is that he never gives up. He’s also very brave and will not hesitate to face an opponent who is a hundred times stronger than him. He trains extremely hard to the point of hurting himself physically.
Other than the mentioned traits, Asta is very naive and doesn’t really get clues. For example, he’s oblivious to the fact that both Noel and Mimosa like him despite them dropping visible clues. That’s how much of an airhead he is.
Yuno
Yuno appears to be a calm, serious, and quiet guy who is also very mysterious. He doesn’t sugar-coat anything and is very direct with everything he speaks. That’s why he’s often considered rude. Yuno also wants to be the Wizard King and plans on not backing down no matter what. Despite his rivalry with Asta, Yuno still cares about him too much. He commends Asta because of the fact that he never gives up no matter what. Yuno is also very helpful toward others despite his calm and cold nature.
YamiYami is a very rough and tough guy who also exudes an intimidating aura. He’s quite strict with his squad members but spends most of his day resting inside the bathroom. He has a short temper and uses violence on anyone who annoys him. Other than that, Yami is an extremely powerful guy who is afraid of no one. He makes his students go through intense training because he believes that it’s the only way they could grow and be better than they could ever be.
Julius Novachrono
Julius Novachrono is the current Wizard King and is one of the kindest and cheerful guys in the Black Clover Universe. Despite his position as a Wizard King, Julius is very childish and gets excited easily. He’s extremely into magic and likes to explore different things. He can spot a strong individual from afar and secretly observe them. Other than that, Julius is a very kind and humble Wizard King who never abuses his power, He also doesn’t discriminate between the members of the royal family and the civilians.
Dante Zogratis
Dante is a very calm and collected individual. He never loses his cool no matter how grim the situation is. He’s quite selfish and manipulates anyone whom he can use for his own good. He doesn’t care if people call him evil and in turn, encourages them to embrace the evilness within them. Overall, he’s a very strong villain who is not someone you would want to mess with.
