Are there any notable suicides you admire? The means/reasons/results?
Here's some of mine:
Finn Yeats - A Kiwi (like me) who went on a week-long road trip around the North Island. Didn't check into any motels, didn't come up on any CCTV cams - the only trace of him before he died was his car being spotted in a seaside town. He ended up near the Tongariro National Park, which is a beautiful and surreal part of the country (I know it's the set of Mt Doom in LOTR). What's really impressive is that his family is relatively famous (his sister is well known for having a rare brain disease) and even with seemingly the whole country on watch he still managed to ctb successfully. I'm considering on doing a similar trip, see special places, holiday locations and such before I'm gone.
Richard Russell - We all know this one. Airline worker steals an empty plane, pulls off some insane stunts, gets a birds-eye view of Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains, crashes harmlessly into an uninhabited island. Aside from being so awesome, it seemed in the day or so afterwards that the world were generally accepting and charmed by this idea of suicide. Maybe if a few more brave souls do something like this suicide can become a choice respected by society.
"Lyle Stevik" - Real name unknown. SS debates on whether we want our bodies found, whether we want our families notified etc. Lyle got the best of both worlds. His family weren't immediately traumatised because they found out about his death 17 years later, and he also wasn't forgotten about completely because his identity was eventually confirmed. Somewhere on an SS thread is a link to pictures of his body with the noose still attached, and he looks completely at peace like there was no struggle/death throes at all. It's probably the least traumatising outcome I can think of.
Would love to hear the stories you know.

Chris McCandless — although it is not officially recognized as a suicide, I think it is and I relate to this.

Suicides should be something extremely personal. The idea that we could be inspired to end our life by someone else just doesn't feel right. In some of the cases you mention its like the "victim" did it for attention which IMO a sign for wrong motivation behind the act.

Keith Noel Emerson from Emerson, Lake, Palmer. He died via a self-inflicted gunshot and he did so partly due to health reasons and also the loss of the ability to play as well as he once did, due to his right hand being messed up.

Jessica Starr — meteorologist who hung herself 8 weeks after SMILE (LASIK variant) surgery, which had complications. She didn't have a history of depression and had never seen a psychiatrist. So she "figured out" how to hang herself pretty quickly (i.e. did not perfect the technique over months/years). This gives me hope.

There's something about committing suicide using a relatively new guerrilla method not believed in by everyone (sn). And I'm interested in the method myself so I guess those are the reasons.

I really wouldn't use the word inspired by, but the videos from Exit or Dignitas of older, terminally ill people who are able to die peacefully surrounded by their loved ones (esp the ones who are joking and laughing till the end and are clearly very relieved to be able to go that way) are so bittersweet. I really wish my final moments could be like that.

There was one participant on Jeremy Kyle (British version of Jerry Springer) whose suicide after his treatment on the show led to it being axed.
Kyle as the host touting his own interpretation of right and wrong in the world as gospel truths, the paradox of the show being that exploiting people's personal situations for ratings in this way was arguably wrongful in itself.
Many finally woke up to the toxicity of the show after what happened and that's why it got cancelled, shows like this literally ruin lives so gg Kyle no re

Chris Benoit, Mike Awesome, and Sean O'Haire.
I was a huge pro wrestling fan and they all used my primary method of hanging. Other than thinking about all my regrets and crushed hopes/dreams I'll probably think of them not long before I ctb.

Sylvia Plath. Taken from online: 'They found Plath dead of carbon monoxide poisoning with her head in the oven, having sealed the rooms between her and her sleeping children with tape, towels and cloths. At approximately 4:30 am, Plath had placed her head in the oven, with the gas turned on. She was 30 years old.'

I deeply respect Chester Bennington and his suicide. His music helped me through so many tough times because I felt like finally someone got it and it was like he understood me. Now that he's gone I know he understood and I hope he found his peace. His music still helps me get through some tough times but it makes me sad too, knowing there won't be any more.

I think this is dangerous territory idolizing or admiring suicides. People end their lives because of immense pain and desperation. Even if they are calm in the process. It's not something to be elevated, inspired by, or imitated. It's the most desperate, hopeless thing anyone can do even if there is a reason people would mostly say "I can understand that" to. If we have to do it we have to do it...but any sort of lionizing of the process is wrong in my view.

No suicide inspires me, it makes me incredibly sad to know that someone has felt the way I feel and had to do that as their only way out....even though that's what I plan to do. Bit of a contradiction I guess.

He has been said a few times already. Chester Bennington. His music, his struggles, everything. He fought through so much hell for so many years and while doing so he gave so much to so many in his music and other ways. The last song I will listen to while I CTB will be Numb.
Then he spent a good time with the people he loved the most and went when he knew it was time. With a good day and a good memory. He told no one, and did it his way.
I hope to be able to do the same. Spend a good day with my baby girl, try like crazy to remember the best five years of my life, and then CTB my way with N while listening to Numb. And if I am awake long enough I will also listen to Greatest Love Song as I used to sing it to the love of my life and always loved the way it made her smile. As long as I drift off while one of those are playing I will be happy. A nice dream for once to cap it all off would be nice hopefully.
If there is anything after this, I hope I get to hang with Chester.

Yes, but...
1) You know in "The Bell Jar", when the main character complains repeatedly that she can't read anymore except "mental stuff" (encyclopedic entries about mental illness + newspapers articles about suicide?) It's like that
2) The allure of romanticization
Mine is Fanny Imlay (she booked a hotel room to overdose in. In 1816.)
