Cape Cod National Seashore andHighlandLighthouse
In 1961, President John F. Kennedy signed a billestablishing the 27,700-acre Cape Cod National HistoricSeashore to preserve the entire eastern shoreline in itsnatural state for future generations. The beaches here areremarkable, with wide, sandy expanses backed by dunes andstunning views, though the waters can be chilly. In addition,the Cape Cod National Seashore is home to the iconic HighlandLighthouse, a historic beacon that has guided sailors alongthis rugged coastline since its establishment.
JFK Memorial
The JFK Memorial (stone monument) overlooks Lewis Bay wherethe Kennedys loved to sail and fish. The proceeds from thereflecting pool are donated to the Town of Barnstable'sscholarship fund. This is an outside activity, only taking afew moments.
